Hi all, thank you for checking this website! Usually tile for offence like dora can be also hazardous tile, and tile for defense like discarded wind is not good for offence. Then What is the tile good for both offence and defense ? Please see the situation below. It seems to be ordinary opening.

No ! Mr.C, the player across and Mr.D player on my right has already discarded 1p. This implies 1p was isolated in their hands and they also don’t have 2p, and maybe 3p. (some players will discard 1p from 124p or 134p, if they already have head pair, though). Especially with this hand, I should aim Sanshoku of 123. And more, 1p is safe tile for Mr.C and Mr.D. So 1p is like utility player good for both offence and defense.
